Joy Behar might be having a change of heart about Travis Kelce. One week after blasting the “illiterate” NFL player for a set of “sexist” tweets he made in his younger years, The View co-host said she’s giving him “a little bit of credit” for being able to date a major pop star like Taylor Swift.

While chatting about Kelce’s recent Wall Street Journal interview on this morning’s episode of the hit daytime talk show, Behar backtracked the criticisms that previously landed her in hot water with fans of the new couple.

“I said something about him last week that people didn’t like — about his high school years and he was very sexist in his high school years,” Behar explained. “But I give him a little bit of credit because she’s a major star and he seems to not be intimidated by that.”

In his interview with WSJ, Kelce said he was nervous about the heightened media attention when he first began pursuing Swift because he was afraid of saying “anything that would push Taylor away.”

“Obviously, I’ve never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them…I’ve never dealt with it,” he told the outlet. “But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it.”

He continued, “The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange.”

Behar’s bad blood with Kelce began on a recent episode of The View when she slammed the Kansas City Chiefs player for making “disparaging comments about women” in resurfaced social media posts that date back to 2010.

“He’s illiterate,” she said, before later adding, “I’m a Swiftie. I love her because she’s getting young people out to vote so I don’t want her to be stuck with this idiot.”

However, it looks like Behar is finally starting to support this love story!

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
