Even John Stamos has his diva moments! While looking back on his time starring on General Hospital, the actor recalled yelling at Elizabeth Taylor for being in his “eye line” during an emotional scene.

While chatting on Sirius XM’s The Jess Cagle Show, Stamos said Taylor — who appeared on three episodes of the soap opera as Helena Cassadine in 1981 — was on set visiting her friend, actor Tony Geary.

However, the Oscar winner’s visit proved to be more of a distraction when she “popped a bottle of champagne in the director’s chair” while Stamos — who starred on the series from 1982 to 1984 as Blackie Parrish — was trying to film an emotional scene about his character’s mother dying.

“[I] heard this rustling, and I couldn’t get through the scene. I was fucking it up. I couldn’t get to that emotional place,” Stamos remembered. “And I heard rustling and I heard a pop like this and then I was like, ‘Get that old lady out of my eye line,’ and the old lady was Elizabeth Taylor.”

The Big Shot star — whose first acting credit was on General Hospital — further detailed their interaction in his new book, If You Would Have Told Me.

“There she is, in all her lavender-eyed glory, poised in a director’s chair, sipping champagne,” Stamos writes, per Page Six. “She’s there visiting Tony Geary and wants to watch me do a scene.”

Following his outburst, he recalled apologizing “profusely” to the actress.

“I can’t believe I lost my shit in front of Elizabeth Taylor. My dad is going to kill me,” he recalls in the memoir, before later adding, “I mute my tantrum, apologize profusely, make some excuse about calling her old, then slither back to the set and continue the scene. This time, I cry my eyes out.”

Fortunately, Stamos’ little freak-out didn’t get him axed from Hollywood. Just a few short years later, he went on to star in his most recognizable role to date as Uncle Jesse in Full House.

After all, who could stay mad at that face?
