‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ Renewed By Nickelodeon For Season 15

Hit animated series SpongeBob SquarePants has been renewed by Nickelodeon for Season 15.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024, the new season will consist of 26 episodes. Once the finale airs, the show will have released 345 total episodes since its debut in 1999.

News of the renewal comes ahead of the Season 14 premiere, which is scheduled for of Season 14 of the show, which is slated for this November.

Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) leads the voice cast, which also includes Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton).

According to Variety, SpongeBob SquarePants remains the most-watched animated series for 21 consecutive years and is one of the most widely-distributed properties in Paramount history.

The success of the flagship show gave rise to spinoffs The Patrick Star Show on Nickelodeon and Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years on Paramount+. There have also been three SpongeBob movies in addition to a Broadway show.

Created by Stephen Hillenburg, who passed away in 2018, SpongeBob SquarePants is produced by Nickelodeon in Burbank, California.

Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller executive produce all three shows, which are produced by Claudia Spinelli, senior vice president of animation for big kids at Nickelodeon, and Kelley Gardner, vice president of current series, animation, at Nickelodeon.
