Much like other Swifties across the internet, Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb were gushing on Today over the viral video of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce kissing after her concert in Argentina this past weekend. But it left Bush Hager cringing, with just one question on her mind.
“One thing I’ve just been stuck on, and I don’t want to be this person because I’m very stuck on their romance, but do they make out like that in front of [her] dad?” Bush Hager asked, referring to the fact that other videos from that evening showed Kelce watching the show with Swift’s father.
She added, “I think they make out like that in front of the dad, which also gives me high school vibes!”
Kotb asked her Today co-host, “Do you guys have PDA in front of your dad?”
“No!” Bush Hager immediately responded, though Kotb’s question gave her a hilarious idea. “I mean, I’m going to try it over Christmas just to see a reaction. Henry will be like, ‘Please get off me.'”
She continued, “I’m going to film it too, I’m going to run at Henry. I’m going to film it for ya’ll to see and I’m going to try and make out [with him]. And my dad has to be there.”
That might be a bit awkward considering she and her husband, Henry Hager, met when he worked for her father, former President George W. Bush.
“Your dad cannot be expecting it,” Kotb said. “If you can complete that task you are gonna get major points here.”
Bush Hager replied, “I’m gonna do the best I can.”
Though the co-hosts agreed that sweet moment between Swift and Kelce was very romantic, Bush Hager remarked that it felt like “new love.”
“I mean, I love Henry, [but] if I ran towards him he’d probably think something was wrong,” Bush Hager joked. “He might duck.”
But she still couldn’t get enough of that viral video.
“I want to watch that seven more times,” she said.
