Fans of The Beatles are in for a treat.

While the historic boy band from Liverpool may have broken up decades ago, and has tragically lost both its co-founder John Lennon and lead guitarist George Harrison , its two surviving members, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, have “come together” — with a little help from their friends, of course — to create the last song ever to be produced by The Beatles, “Now and Then.”

And lucky for Disney+ subscribers, they can watch the magic of the song coming to fruition in Now And Then – The Last Beatles Song, a 12-minute-long documentary hitting the streamer on Wednesday (Nov. 1). Disney+ recently released a trailer for the upcoming short film, showcasing never-before-seen footage of the band and recordings from McCartney, Starr, Harrison, and John’s son, Sean Ono Lennon.

A 1995 audio recording of Harrison reveals that John’s wife, Yoko Ono, told him that she had a “tape of John,” which would ultimately be used in “Now and Then.”

In the trailer, Sean shares that “it’s the last song that [his] dad and Paul and George and Ringo will get to make together.”

The doc also features “a few precious seconds of the Beatles performing in their leather suits, the earliest known film of the Beatles and never seen before,” per director Peter Jackson via The Guardian. Jackson also directed The Beatles: Get Back, the three-part docuseries following the band recording their legendary Let It Be album that hit Disney+ in 2021.

The trailer concludes with the following question from McCartney: “How lucky was I to have those men in my life?”

Giles Martin, son of the Beatles’ record producer Sir George Martin, told People noted that the new song, which is slated for a worldwide Nov. 2 release, “feels like [it] is the Beatles last song.”

“It sounds like how the Beatles would do it now, had they all been alive,” he continued. “I think that makes it more real. I hope it touches people.”
