Meghan Markle is just as stunned by the resurgence in Suits viewership as the rest of us.

While speaking to Variety at the outlet’s Power of Women event on Thursday night (Nov. 16), Markle — who starred as paralegal Rachel Zane for seven seasons of the USA Network drama — reacted to news that her show had surpassed 45 billion minutes streamed on Netflix and Peacock combined.

“Isn’t that wild?” she exclaimed.

While she admitted that she has “no idea” why the show has become popular once again, she attempted to piece it together.

“It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew,” she shared. “We had a really fun time.”

Markle added, “it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days,” suggesting, “that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”

Markle married Prince Harry in 2018, becoming the Duchess to his Duke of Sussex, but the two stepped down as senior royals in 2020. That same year, they founded the Archewell Foundation and Archewell Productions.

They struck a $100 million deal with Netflix in September 2020, per Fortune, through which they have produced Heart of Invictus, Live to Lead, and Harry & Meghan.

Markle said she hopes to bring forth emotions from viewers, describing her upcoming work with her husband as “things that make people feel something… and feel a sense of community.”

“We have so many exciting things on the slate,” she continued. “I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it, too. It’s really fun.”

Suits is streaming in full on Netflix and Peacock.
