New on VOD this week, we’ve got quite a few comedies for your enjoyment, including Sick Girl, in which Nina Dobrev stars as a young woman who fakes a cancer diagnosis in order to get her friend group back together. There’s also the new dramedy The Miracle Club, which sees the unlikely formation of a new friend group, as a quartet of women travel from Ireland to France hoping for a miracle.

And in Praise This, which originally aired on Peacock earlier this year and is now widely available on VOD, Chloe Bailey stars alongside Quavo and Anjelika Washington as an aspiring singer who joins her cousin’s local “praise team,” a competitive gospel group. The film is a delightful showcase for Bailey’s talents, and features solid gospel covers of hit songs from musicians like Megan Thee Stallion.

If you want to get into the Halloween spirit, you can also check out Saw X, out on demand this week after only three weeks in theaters.

These are just a few of the titles that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.

Sick Girl

Nina Dobrev stars in the new movie Sick Girl as Wren, a young woman finds her tight-knit group of high school friends drifting apart now that they’re in their 30s. In a desperate attempt to unite them, Wren lies to her friends and says she has cancer, which causes them to rally around her, but of course the lie becomes a destructive ruse she can’t keep up forever. Sherry Cola, Hayley Magnus, and Stephanie Koenig star as Wren’s best friends, and Dan Bakkedahl and Wendi McLendon-Covery round out the great supporting cast of the dark comedy.

The Miracle Club

In The Miracle Club, set in 1967 Ireland, Maggie Smith, Kathy Bates, and Agnes O’Casey star as three women living in a small town who have won a trip to Lourdes, in France, the site where people wish for miracles. When Laura Linney’s character arrives to their town to mourn the passing of her mother, a friend to the other women, she eventually agrees to join them on their pilgrimage. A dramatic comedy filled with life lessons and strong women, The Miracle Club is a heartwarming story every mother will love.
