Loki Season 2 is quickly coming to a close, leaving many Marvel fans to wonder if they should be expecting a Season 3 or not.

Season 2 saw Tom Hiddleston‘s mischievous god teaming up with Mobius (Owen Wilson), Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku), and Ouroboros (Ke Huy Quan), to navigate the multiverse they’ve unlocked to locate Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) and Judge Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw.)

Loki has come a long way from being Thor’s troublesome brother. With the way Loki has been shaping up, he’s turning into one of the biggest heroes of this Marvel phase, especially as we venture deeper into the multiverse.

The Season 2 finale is set to premiere later this week and it’s sure to answer some questions.

But will there be a Loki Season 3? Here’s what we know.

Disney+ has not announced whether it plans to renew the Marvel show for third season just yet.

The Disney+ show remains the only Marvel television series to be renewed beyond one season so far. However, The Hollywood Reporter recently revealed that Marvel Studios is finally ready to lean into serialized television and is “stepping away from the limited-series format that has defined it.” Considering they already decided to renew Loki for a second season, there’s still a chance for a Season 3, too.

Executive producer Kevin Wright said there’s still a lot to be seen after Season 2 ends this week.

“Season 2 was about closing that book, but that there are many other books on the shelf for this character and for this world,” Wright told Collider in a recent interview. “But this felt like it wanted to be the conclusion of these great things that we set up in Season 1. We don’t want to constantly leave people with drastic cliffhangers for our finales.”

The show is also performing well for the streamer. A recent press release notes the Loki Season 2 premiere was the second-most watched season premiere on Disney+, right behind The Mandalorian Season 3.

With the season finale premiering this week, only time will tell if Marvel fans will be getting a new installment down the line. Fingers crossed!
