Is ‘Napoleon’ Streaming on Netflix, Prime Video or Apple TV+?

Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby star in Napoleon, which is coming to theaters this week — just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch this new historical drama!

Directed by Ridley Scott, Napoleon is based on the true story of Napoleon Bonaparte (Phoenix). The film — which Decider’s Meghan O’Keefe describes as an “intriguing experiment in storytelling” — follows the French Emperor’s rise and fall from power, as well as his volatile relationship with Empress Joséphine (Kirby).

So where can you watch Napoleon? Is it on Netflix? What about Apple TV+?

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie:

WHERE TO WATCH NAPOLEON:

As of now, the only way to watch Napoleon is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Wednesday, Nov. 22. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait until it becomes available to stream on Apple TV+. Read on for more information.

WILL NAPOLEON BE ON APPLE TV+?

Yes, Napoleon will eventually make its way to Apple TV+ after its theatrical run. However, the streaming platform has yet to announce an exact date.

In the past, Apple Original Films that were released in theaters first, like The Tragedy of Macbeth, have only taken a few weeks to join the streaming platform. However, it’s entirely possible that Napoleon will follow a more conventional path that could take close to 45 days after premiering in theaters to become available on Apple TV+. If the movie does follow this trajectory, you may be able watch it from the comfort of your home as soon as early January 2024.

WILL NAPOLEON BE ON PRIME VIDEO?

Similar to other Apple Original Films like Emancipation, Napoleon will likely not be available to stream on Prime Video since it will go directly to Apple TV+ after its theatrical run.

WILL NAPOLEON BE ON NETFLIX?

No, Napoleon will not be on Netflix — at least not any time soon. In the meantime, you’ll just have to head out to a movie theater or wait for it to become available to stream on Apple TV+.
