Wayne Brady was reportedly involved in a car accident and “physical altercation” on Sunday night (Nov. 19), per TMZ.

Law enforcement told the outlet that the actor and comedian was driving on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Malibu when he was hit by another car driven by a 51-year-old male. However, things escalated after both he and the other driver pulled over and engaged in a “physical altercation.”

The police shared that the Let’s Make A Deal host made a 911 call following the fight, and the other driver drove away, fleeing the scene. The outlet was told that the other driver was found by sheriff deputies immediately and arrested for battery, driving under the influence (DUI), and hit-and-run.

A source confirmed to People that Brady filed battery charges against the other driver.

“Wayne is so upset about this incident with drunk driver,” a source told the publication. “As a father, he was just thankful it was not his daughter or anyone’s child dealing with this. He kept thinking what if it was his daughter.”

While the fire department also came to the scene, Brady did not need a hospital visit. According to sources close to Brady, he is “banged up and sore” today, and is planning on “taking it easy” for now.

The Season 31 Dancing with the Stars third-place winner was in the news earlier this year when he came out as pansexual in August. At the time, he told People that he is attracted to “anyone who identifies as gay, straight, bi, transsexual or non-binary.”

“In doing my research, both with myself and just with the world, I couldn’t say if I was bisexual, because I had to really see what that was, especially because I really have not gotten a chance to act on anything,” he shared.

He ultimately deemed pansexuality as “the proper place” for him right now.

“I took pan to mean that not only can I be attracted to any of these people or types physically, but I could be attracted to the person that is there,” he added.

Brady said that he is focused on being “the best Wayne Brady that everybody wants and expects.”
