Netflix may be finding itself in trouble — again — after new reports surrounding The Crown Season 6 detail even more “distressing” scenes regarding the aftermath of Princess Diana‘s death.

While the streaming platform has repeatedly stated that the 1997 Paris car crash that killed Diana would not be shown as part of the series’ upcoming sixth installment (only the moments leading up to it), crew members have described the “terribly upsetting scenes” based on the events that followed to The Sun.

“They actually made Elizabeth [Debicki] climb into a coffin and play dead as Diana,” one source noted. “Viewers will see a French priest administering the last rites for Diana as she is pronounced deceased.”

According to the crew member, Prince Charles, played by Dominic West, is in “floods of tears” as he enters the room where Diana’s casket lies, before noticing that she is missing an earring, which he orders French officials to find. They further said the princess’ two sisters join Charles where “there is wailing and more tears around the dead body in the open coffin.”

They continued, “Princes William and Harry never saw their mother dead in a coffin and they shouldn’t have to watch this. Nor should the British public,” adding that Netflix “went way over the top to chase ratings. Everyone was very uncomfortable doing the shoot. It is obscene and should be banned from broadcast.”

A second source, who claimed that cast members were “visibly upset” over what they were being directed to do, detailed another gruesome scene, where Diana’s body is lying on a table with medics surrounding her in a Paris hospital.

“They hired real surgeons for the scenes. Nurses are also seen around the lifeless body,” they revealed. “There is blood everywhere — on the surgeons’ gowns and gloves, and on the door.”

The Crown is no stranger to coming under fire for its portrayal of the royal family. Just ahead of its most recent season, public figures like Dame Judi Dench called for a disclaimer stating that it’s a “fictional dramatization,” something Netflix eventually added to the trailer.

While there is no official release date for The Crown Season 6 yet, the entire fifth season is currently streaming on Netflix.
