Jada Pinkett Smith is firing back after The View co-host Ana Navarro slammed her for “emasculating and embarrassing” Will Smith in her new book, Worthy.

While appearing on a recent episode of The Breakfast Club podcast, Pinkett Smith — who shocked the world when she wrote about her and Smith’s secret separation — responded to Navarro’s scathing criticisms.

“Well, I think if she took time to read the book, you know?” she said. “I think that … if you wanna just read headlines, I could see how that could be confusing. But the book is right here.”

Pinkett Smith added, “People have a right to their opinions. I always know that anybody who’s saying that hasn’t really done their homework.”

According to the actress, backlash is to be expected when it comes to the “headlines” and “clickbait” that circulate through the media.

“Will knows what it is, I know what it is, my kids know what it is, and, more importantly, Great Supreme does too,” she said. “That’s really all I’m concerned with at the end of the day.”

When it comes to the public’s negative perceptions about her, Pinkett Smith added, “I let it go. Because let me tell you — I’ve been there. I’m not gonna sit up here and act like I haven’t. I’ve been there, thinking I know based on headlines. … I have no judgment because I’ve been there.”

Navarro hasn’t shied away from sharing her feelings about the couple. Last month, she accused Pinkett Smith of dropping “bombshells” about her marriage every time she wants to make a quick buck.

“I think she’s having a relationship with her bank account,” she told The View. “Every time she needs to increase the ratings of Red Table Talkevery time she needs to sell books, she drops these bombshells. I find it unseemly. I will tell you this: be careful of anybody who pretends to have a perfect marriage.”

Just a couple of weeks later, Navarro speculated that Smith was an “emotional prisoner” in his marriage — and declared that she would not read his wife’s book.

“I don’t wanna read the book,” she said, per Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t wanna give them another dime for her emasculating and embarrassing him to everybody in the world.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
